The seas may be tranquil all around,
Or there may be storms out of the blue,
Yet we go cruising onward,
On our journey, as all sailors do.
Mending brigs, polishing decks,
Keeping an eye out to stay on course.
And through the hollers and the shanties,
Sailing on in the waters of gale or repose.
The people we meet on the seas of life-
The bonds made on the voyage,
Or the lessons learnt from moments and men,
Get stronger with time and age.
The trust that we have in our mates,
And the vow to always have each other’s back,
Gets us going on the unknown seas,
Even if we set forth with things that we lack.
No matter what we lose in the storms,
Or gain in the treasures of the deep,
May we be grateful and kind, to ourselves and to all who,
Are on their own journeys through this sea.
