How about we slow down

These days when people are rushing through life, there is always a feel in the air of a constant race to one’s destination. It is unclear as to what everyone is hurrying towards though, so much so that the horn has to sound the moment the traffic light turns green! The traffic light indicators are certainly changed- now red means- rev, and then some more, to show how annoyed you are with the whole wait, and how much you are raring to go. Orange means-speed up so that you miss that impending stop light. Green is, as already mentioned, honk.

Some impatient and irresponsible pedestrians suddenly cut across the road or believe that they can make vehicles stop for them anywhere. Because of these people, most drivers are annoyed by everyone who is on the road.
Pedestrians are left waiting at busy roads. We can see some elderly people or children waiting for a stop in the flow of traffic, so that they can safely get to the other side of the road, but hardly anyone slows down to let them go, in fact I have seen many speed up, so that they don’t have to wait for any crossing.

Some people who travel occasionally by public transport tend to avoid taking them, to skip rude passengers or transport officials(drivers or conductors). Don’t give up on people yet, humanity is still seen, thankfully. There are the ‘few good men’.

You may have encountered irritated or loud drivers, rude conductors and annoying passengers in a couple of trips and then decided to skip the drama altogether.
But it takes a few rides to get to see that, there are a few drivers and conductors who are patient and concerned about passengers’ safety. Asking them to slow down when getting into the bus or be careful while getting down at a bus stop near the traffic signal. There are a few passengers who help you out when you lose balance or need help into or out of a crowded bus/train. Among annoyed or nagging passengers, there are some who smile or are patient when people brush past them.

We are all in it, and we all have to get somewhere on time, so let’s make it a point to not ruin anyone’s day; we are all going through the daily hustle and bustle of our lives, almost everyone is easily kindled into a fight, but one thing is for certain – it is very easy to not retort and to be kind, if we only try.
Happy travels!
