Season of beginnings

A finch looks at the beautiful sight,
The trees are decked in colours, to her delight.
She sees the many hues in sparkling green,
Every branch has soft budding leaves.

A sunbird comes whistling by,
Cheerfully peering at every new flower.
Busy bees buzz by, making quick stops,
While birds take turns to belt out songs, until the sun’s last hour.

See, the dragonflies and damselflies hover,
Over the pristine springs from melted snow.
While bugs and butterflies take cover,
Under makeshift carpets of clover.

Some rodents and birds who went to sleep,
During the cold, gray winter months,
Come out to welcome the life and warmth,
That this season showers on us all.

May the freshness remain,
And the charm in the air renew,
Both -within us and beyond;
So that there’s always enough joy in us,
To last when it is shared around.
